Ice Colossus

This was a piece I wanted to do for awhile, ever since I saw the concept art by Yuze Bai on Artstation. It just struck me as a fun and unique project, and I kept thinking it would look cool in 3d.

It was more of a speed project, and took about 3-4 days total using my workflow for a quicker turnaround. It was a lot of fun trying to make the ice materials in PBR, and unfortunately neither painter or marmoset toolbag 2 has real time refraction, so it’s faked as best I could. Hi poly was sculpted in zbrush from zspheres, low poly textured and rendered in substance painter.  I used some damage brushes from Paul Tosca on the zbrush sculpt, and a really nice rock material as a base in painter from Hugo Beyer.
